We all know that everybody does not know everything, (regardless of what your brother-in law says). Your Captain has his own agenda and certainly every broker (almost) on the planet has one and it is usually short term. A consultant charged with a clearly defined task with a clearly specified time frame just might work for you and your yacht.
When you start the never-ending search for that ideal yacht would, it not be a good idea to know, in some detail, something about the brokerage community, the real reputations of the builders and / or the refit yards?
A consultant can act as an “owner’s agent” being directed by you, reporting to you, paid by you rather than by vested interests, and hidden 10% commissions.
There are points where a consultant could be indispensable, e.g. Your Captain leaves the yacht in the middle of a project (perhaps taking the chief stewardess or chef with him), your yacht experiences an emergency in Europe and your schedule precludes addressing it in person etc.
Give it some thought, you probably use a consultant or two in you business now, a (lawyer is certainly a consultant).
If we can be of service to you, your yacht or your crew, Please give us a call or email us we would enjoy talking with you.

Any jobs at sea is fun and great as it pays well and it lets you see the world for free. It is also a great opportunity to meet new people from different places and of different cultures.
